The 2013 racing season is quickly coming upon us!!! Coleman is getting ready for USACs first stop in Ocala Florida the end of February. He is excited to once again be his own boss as he is crewing and driving his DRC nonwing sprint car with the help of Rodney Reynolds and Dylan Burton. CGR would like to thank Rob's Market, Hallstead, PA for once again being one of our big sponsors for the 2013 season!!!! Coleman is recognized by Flat Out Magazine in their February issue as being "Who's Hot" in the nonwing sprint car ranks! He will also be recognized at the Circle Track Expo at the Indiana Fairgrounds in Indianapolis at the end of January for his 3rd place finish in the Indiana Nonwing Sprint Car standings! He finished 5th last year. Quite an accomplishment with over 120 drivers competing in the 2012 season. Thank you to all of our fans who continue to support The Iceman and welcome to our new ones.
10/22/2012 The Iceman competed in USAC´s Hurtubise Classic at the Terre Haute Action Track this past Friday October 12th. Coleman had some fuel line issues early on and didn´t even get to hotlap, but ended up 7th fastest in qualifying. He took 3rd in his heat. The fastest qualifier didn´t finish in the top 5 of his heat which put Coleman on the pole for the A next to Chase Stockon. Chase got ahead of Coleman but the Iceman was gaining on him during the caution filled feature. With 10 laps to go and yet another caution, Coleman ran out of fuel on the restart!!!! Some 30 seconds later, USAC called a 50 minute red flag for, yes, you guessed it, FUEL!!! The Iceman would have liked to have seen that red flag fuel stop 2 laps sooner! It was a disappointment but that´s racing! Team CGR heads to Kokomo this Friday for the Kokomo Klash It´s the last race of the season for the Iceman Thanks again to all for your continued support!!!!! God Bless our troops!!!
10/8/2012 The Iceman and team CGR headed to Pontoon Beach, IL for 3 nights of racing with the USAC midgets in the Gold Crown Nationals. Thursday started out shaky for the Iceman as he hit a yuke tire in his heat forcing him to the pits. He started 7th in the B-Main and Won! This started him 17th in the A and he finished 4th!!!! A great run by the Iceman Friday was rained out and they were not making it up so Saturday was the Finale Coleman won his heat with what was called a "massive" slide job on Brad Sweet coming out of 4 to take the checkered flag!!!! Coleman started 4th in the A-Main and brought home another WIN!!!!!! That makes 8 this year which beats his record of 7 last year! The Iceman and Team CGR head to Terre Haute Action Track this Friday for a make-up USAC race. Then on to I-96 Speedway in Michigan for another USAC race on Sunday October 14th Make sure to check out Coleman Gulick Racing´s Facebook page Thanks to all for your support and God Bless Our Troops!!!!!......
10/1/2012 The Iceman WINS again at Gas City this past Friday night besting many of USAC´s champions!!!! Saturday night´s race was a USAC show at Lawrenceburg Speedway Coleman was fastest qualifier out of 42 cars!!! Started 6th in his heat and had to finish 4th or better to get into the show. A slide job on the last lap puts Coleman in a transfer spot!!!! He starts 6th in the feature (USAC inverts the top 6 in qualifying), hits a hole on the wave lap and a heim breaks which sends his car jumping up and down Unfortunately it was not fixable so he had to watch the A from the stands!!!!!!!! Very disappointing, but the Good Lord was watching out for him. Had it broke during the race it could have been very bad!!!!!!! Up next a 3 day show at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL starting this Thursday through Saturday Thanks to all for your continuted support God Bless our Troops!!!!!!
9/24/2012 Team CGR heads to Eldora Speedway after getting rained out at Gas City Friday night 34 cars in the Sprint division for USAC´s 4 crown Nationals Coleman qualifies 21st. Wins his heat and starts 19th in the feature Up to 12th with 8 laps to go, gets a flat left rear tire, has to pit and ends up 17th Up next, Gas City Friday night and another USAC show at Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday As always, thank you for your support and God Bless our Troops!!!!
9/17/2012 The Iceman is 4 for 4 after a WIN Friday at Gas City for the "Lewis Morgan Memorial" and a WIN at Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday!!!! 4 wins at 4 different tracks in the past 2 weeks!!!! Sunday Team CGR went to Waynesfield, OH to compete in the "Jack Hewitt Classic" where Coleman was fastest qualifier out of 54 cars and finished 4th in the A Main!!!!! It´s been quite a couple weeks for the Iceman and Team CGR!!!!! Next up is a big race weekend with Team CGR heading to Eldora Speedway for the USAC 4¯Crown Nationals Saturday night!
9/10/2012 Iceman was 2 for 2 this past weekend!!! Team CGR was rained out at Gas City Friday. The Iceman goes on to defend his "King of Non Wing" crown at LPS on Saturday and backs it up with a win at Kokomo Sunday defending his Vince Osman Memorial Race!!!!!.......... It was a long night at LPS with the first of 3 A Mains for the sprint cars (51 total) ending at 2:44am! But definitely worth the wait!.......... A very emotional Osman Family at Kokomo in Victory Lane. The Iceman is honored to have won this race 2 years in a row and get to meet a great family and honor a wonderful man.
9/3//2012 "Isaac" wins this past weekend! Team CGR decided not to go to Gas City Friday to be prepared for Terre Haute on Saturday. Rain dominated both Saturday and Sunday canceling both Terre Haute and Kokomo. Terre Haute is rescheduled for a later date and Kokomo will try to make it up this Sunday, September 9.
The Kokomo Smackdown was a good one for Team CGR!
